The Data

Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease

According to the CDC, when people develop chronic kidney disease (CKD), their kidneys become damaged and over time may not clean the blood as well as healthy kidneys. If kidneys do not work well, toxic waste and extra fluid accumulate in the body and may lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and early death.

Diabetes

Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease

According to the CDC, about 38 million people have diabetes.

That’s about 1 in every 10 people. Even more astounding is that 1 in 5 people don’t know they have diabetes. People who have diabetes are at higher risk of serious health complications: blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke, and/ or loss of toes, feet, or legs.

Hypertension

Chronic Kidney Disease

Hypertension

According to the CDC,  hypertension (high blood pressure) increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, two leading causes of death for Americans.  Tens of millions of adults in the United States have high blood pressure, and many do not have it under control.
